Kaylin Roberson, 23, of Raleigh, NC, and her boyfriend Matt Gorman, 23, of Philadelphia, sang "Fast Forever," a song they co-wrote, during the show earlier this week.

The judges liked the original song, but they thought Roberson's voice stood out more than Gorman's, which they claimed was more hidden in the background.

"Your voice is just cut through massive. you got a big step out in the spotlight and let it rip voice," Luke Bryan says of Roberson's voice. "It's just a big voice that's authentically yours."

"You know you're kind of the opposite, kind of laid back, California feeling," Bryan tells Gorman. "He was in a complementary position," Lionel Richie added.

Richie said "yes" to Gorman, but Bryan and Katy Perry felt he wasn't ready for the competition and needed more time.

The judges then made a unanimous vote to send Gorman to Hollywood.
